New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice
Our continuing education (CE) courses are curated to meet the renewal requirements of the New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice for Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC), Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSW), Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Pastoral Psychotherapists, School Social Workers, Licensed Social Workers (LSW), and Social Work Associates (LSWA). Independent clinical practitioners (LCMHC, LICSW, LMFT, Pastoral Psychotherapists, and School Social Workers) must complete 40 CE hours every two years. Licensed Social Workers (LSW) are required to complete 30 CE hours every two years, while Social Work Associates (LSWA) must complete 10 hours. Please note the following important distance learning restrictions: The New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice places strict caps on asynchronous distance learning. Independent clinical practitioners may fulfill a maximum of 20 to 30 of their required hours via recorded home study, while LSWs are limited to 20 home-study hours, and LSWAs are capped at 7 home-study hours. The remaining hours must be completed through live, interactive Category A instruction. Across primary independent clinical licenses, renewal requirements include a minimum of 6 hours in ethics and 3 hours in suicide prevention, all of which must be completed through approved Category A activities. LSWs and LSWAs are required to complete a minimum of 3 ethics hours and 3 suicide prevention hours. Additionally, board-approved clinical supervisors must complete at least 6 Category A CE hours dedicated to clinical supervision during each renewal cycle. Our course library offers up-to-date Category A training across the most critical areas in behavioral health, including advanced differential diagnosis, clinical supervision, care coordination, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based interventions such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. While Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC/MLADC) are overseen by a separate board with a distinct 48-hour requirement (and a strict 12-hour limit on online distance learning), professionals across all state-regulated licenses can utilize our clinical addiction and mental health courses to fulfill their mandatory CE hours. Browse our courses to build a customized CE curriculum, satisfy your New Hampshire Board of Mental Health Practice requirements, and continue delivering the highest standard of care to individuals, couples, and families across New Hampshire.
