Counselors need to stay current with counseling practices and keep up with your credentials. We know this is a big priority for you in Mississippi. We built this catalog of continuing education courses specifically to meet the license renewal requirements of the Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors. You might hold a Licensed Professional Counselor or Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor credential. You might even be a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. We designed these courses to build your clinical skills and help you meet your state mandates easily. Active LPCs must complete 24 continuing education hours every two years. You can complete all of these hours through online distance learning. P-LPCs have a different requirement and need to complete 6 hours every single year to keep their provisional status active. The state board requires LPCs to take a minimum of 6 hours in professional ethics or legal issues during every two year renewal cycle. P-LPCs need 2 hours in ethics annually. The laws recently changed in Mississippi. Active LPCs now have to complete 2 hours of continuing education specifically focused on domestic violence every renewal period. Supervisors holding the LPC-S credential carry an extra requirement. They must complete at least 2 hours of training specific to clinical supervision every two years. Counselors with the Distance Professional Services provider designation also have specific rules. They must complete 2 hours of telemental health training per renewal cycle. P-LPCs with this designation need 1 hour annually. Our training covers the most important topics in the counseling field today. Counselors and counselors in training will learn how to navigate Mississippi laws and complex ethical issues. We also teach you how to manage secure distance counseling and evaluate clinical supervision methods. You will even learn how to apply practical domestic violence interventions.
