This 5-hour continuing education course, Content Area C3: Group Process and Techniques, is designed for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistants, Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselors, and their respective clinical supervisors. It prepares clinicians to facilitate safe and effective group therapy. Practitioners integrate trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing, the Stages of Change, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy into group facilitation, master the foundations of group dynamics and stage-based development, plan and structure therapeutic groups appropriately, and execute advanced interventions to manage resistance, conflict, and risk within the group setting. Upon successful completion of this course, earned hours are automatically reported to CE Broker.
