NAADAC Approved Courses

Addiction counselors and social workers need education credits to keep their licenses active. This page lists courses approved by NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. These home-study options help therapists and supervisors meet state licensing standards across the country. Each course focuses on practical skills for daily work. Topics include ethical rules, clinical supervision, suicide prevention, and motivational interviewing. Classes on gambling disorders are also available. These courses are also all available on CEBroker and can count as CE Hours towards their respective licenses for the states of Kansas, New Hampshire, North Dakota and Tennessee. Other state licenses that may not be on CEBroker can still accept these hours towards their respective licenses so long as they accept NAADAC approved courses. Completing these courses provides continuing education hours. A national commission accepts these credits, and so do most state licensing boards. To earn credit, a student reads the material, takes a short test, and receives a certificate of completion after passing. All materials are online and self-paced, allowing you to work when you have time.
