Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Teamwork is a 10-hour continuing education course for Certified Mental Health Professionals (CMHPs) who work on teams with psychiatrists, advanced practice nurses, therapists, nurses, peer specialists, medical providers, and families. People living with serious mental health conditions are best served when the people helping them share information, agree on goals, and trust one another. This course explains why interprofessional collaboration matters, clarifies the roles of common team members and the CMHP's place among them, reviews research on what makes teams effective, and teaches practical skills for structured communication, team meetings, collaboration with medical providers and families, lawful information sharing, handling disagreement, and sustaining healthy teams, all within the CMHP scope.
