Writing Measurable Goals and SMART Objectives is a 10-hour continuing education course for Certified Mental Health Professionals (CMHPs) who help people turn hopes into plans and plans into visible progress. The course explains why clear goals matter for recovery, funding, and accountability; teaches the structure of a service plan from the person's vision down to individual objectives and interventions; and provides step-by-step practice writing goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. Learners also practice tracking progress, writing progress notes linked to objectives, working with ambivalent or harm-reduction goals, and checking plans for common errors, all within the CMHP role of supporting and documenting plans that licensed clinicians approve.
