The Complete Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) Initial Certification Bundle 30 Hours

Overview
Bundle

Launch your career in behavioral health with confidence through this comprehensive 32-hour training bundle, specifically designed to meet the educational requirements for initial certification as a Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT). There is an additional two hours however, this was so I could write one course for multiple certifications to share the benefit of good practice across disciplines. This will fulfill the 30 hours of training needed for the CBHT certification. This curriculum transforms the theoretical standards of the Florida Certification Board into practical, job-ready skills, moving beyond basic concepts to establish a robust framework for safe and effective practice. By integrating the essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSAs) required for direct care, this training ensures you understand the specific scope of your role within the interdisciplinary team and prepares you to act as the "eyes and ears" of the clinical staff.
To prepare you for the realities of the modern treatment environment, the curriculum immerses you in the "No Wrong Door" approach to co-occurring disorders. You will learn to navigate the complex interplay between substance use and mental health conditions, moving away from fragmented care toward an integrated support model. This clinical perspective is deepened through extensive training in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC). By shifting the fundamental question from "what is wrong with you?" to "what happened to you?", you will learn to utilize "Universal Precautions" for trauma, helping you prevent retraumatization and use evidence-based de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe environment.
The bundle also focuses heavily on the technical and ethical infrastructure of your daily work. You will master the art of clinical documentation by learning the "Golden Thread" method, which connects assessment to treatment planning, and by practicing standardized note formats like SOAP and DAP to create legally defensible records. We ground these skills in a deep exploration of universal ethics, helping you navigate the gray areas of professional boundaries, dual relationships, and the unique confidentiality challenges posed by the intersection of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations. Finally, you will tackle the "Silent Syndemic" of infectious diseases, learning to manage the health and safety risks of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C while developing a personal resilience plan to protect yourself against burnout and compassion fatigue.
