Clinical Supervision Essentials for Colorado LPCs: The Seven Required Content Areas (6 Hours)

Overview
Curriculum

Clinical Supervision Essentials for Colorado LPCs is a six-hour, text-based home study course designed around the Colorado State Board of Licensed Professional Counselor Examiners' supervision rule, 4 CCR 737-1, Rule 1.7. Since September 1, 2021, professional counselors who provide clinical supervision of mental health professionals complete one of several training options, including a minimum of six clock-hours of clinical supervision training covering seven content areas. This course covers all seven areas: the role and functions of clinical supervisors, models and methods of clinical supervision, supervisory relationship issues, cultural issues in clinical supervision, group supervision, legal and ethical issues in clinical supervision, and evaluation of supervisee competency and the supervision process. It also explains Colorado's ten elements of supervision, supervisor qualifications, the duty to warn, and mandatory reporting.
