Boundary Management in Community Care (10 Contact Hours)

Overview
Curriculum

Boundary Management in Community Care is a 10-hour continuing education course that helps Certified Mental Health Professionals (CMHPs) maintain healthy professional boundaries when they work in clients' homes, neighborhoods, and communities. Community-based work brings helpers into close contact with people's daily lives, which strengthens relationships and understanding but also creates frequent boundary questions about hospitality, household members, overlapping community roles, self-disclosure, gifts, practical help, phones and social media, physical safety, and touch. This course explains the difference between boundary crossings and boundary violations, applies the Florida Certification Board (FCB) Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct to field practice, and offers practical decision tools, supervision strategies, and ways to repair boundary problems before they cause harm.
