This 4-hour continuing education course empowers Certified Recovery Peer Specialists (CRPS) to become insightful and effective advocates at both the individual and organizational levels within health and human services (SAMHSA, 2023A). The curriculum addresses the Florida Certification Board's requirements for Advocacy, Resource Linkage, and Follow-Up, focusing on the essential knowledge, values, and evidence-based skills necessary for professional peer practice (The Florida Certification Board, 2015; SAMHSA, 2023A). Participants will gain mastery in areas critical to successful peer integration, including upholding rigorous ethical boundaries, applying principles of cultural humility and trauma-informed care, managing crisis situations, and engaging in macro-level efforts to reduce stigma (The Florida Certification Board, 2015; SAMHSA, 2023A).
