Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental and Emotional Disorders (6 CE Hours)

Overview
Curriculum

This comprehensive 6-hour Continuing Education course covers clinical psychopathology and the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, program areas that OAC 4757-9-01 lists as acceptable continuing education for Ohio counselors and that are relevant to Ohio social workers and marriage and family therapists (Ohio requires no specific number of hours in these areas). The curriculum provides a rigorous examination of the diagnostic process using the DSM-5-TR framework, integrated with the legal mandates of Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) Chapter 4757. Participants will advance their skills in differential diagnosis for mood, anxiety, trauma, and substance use disorders while mastering the "Golden Thread" of documentation. Special emphasis is placed on the 2025 amendment to OAC 4757-5-09, which bars records that are the sole work product of any other person or software/information technology system (a standard that reaches AI documentation tools, although the rule does not name artificial intelligence), suicide risk assessment, and the ethical management of comorbidity in diverse populations. Upon successful completion of the post-test, hours are reported directly to CE Broker.

CE Broker reporting covers the 16 boards in 10 states where I'm a registered provider. Everyone gets a certificate to download right away.
