Diagnosis and Treatment Planning for Kansas LMACs and LCACs (6 CE Hours)

Overview
Curriculum

This comprehensive, six-module course is designed for Kansas Licensed Master's Addiction Counselors (LMACs) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselors (LCACs) and addresses the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders, a continuing education content area the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) requires of these licensees at each renewal. As the landscape of addiction treatment evolves toward integrated care, Kansas practitioners must possess advanced competency in diagnosing Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions using the DSM-5-TR. This course moves beyond basic theory to practical application, covering the implementation of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), differential diagnosis of complex co-occurring disorders, and the creation of rigorous, evidence-based treatment plans. Participants will explore the specific scopes of practice for Kansas licensees, ensuring ethical compliance while utilizing integrated models to treat the whole person. Grounded in cultural humility and trauma-informed care, this training equips counselors to navigate the bidirectional relationship between mental illness and addiction. Upon successful completion of the post-test, hours are reported directly to CE Broker.

CE Broker reporting covers the 16 boards in 10 states where I'm a registered provider. Everyone gets a certificate to download right away.
