This text-based course gives Arizona clinical supervisors three clock hours of focused training on supervising a supervised private practice (SPP) under Ariz. Admin. Code R4-6-217, the rule section effective November 2, 2025. It explains who may serve as an SPP supervisor, how SPP supervision differs from supervision inside an agency, what the supervision agreement is required to contain, and how the supervisor oversees both the clinical work and the business side of a practice that the supervisee owns.
Through Arizona case studies, checklists, and sample documentation, supervisors learn to calculate meeting requirements, review clinical and business records against the Board's rules, document supervision, submit semiannual reports on time, and respond when problems arise, from early warning signs and remediation plans to reporting concerns and ending or changing the arrangement with attention to client continuity.
This course is designed around the supervised private practice training requirement in Ariz. Admin. Code R4-6-217 and is not approved or endorsed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
