This 5-hour continuing education course provides addiction professionals with a well-structured neurobiological foundation for trauma-informed clinical practice. This course is for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistants, Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselors, and their respective clinical supervisors. Practitioners trace how complex trauma physically rewires the brain's reward circuitry, explore the disease model and risk and protective factors, examine the intersections of PTSD and SUD, implement SAMHSA's six Trauma-Informed Care principles, and map the holistic dimensions of recovery and wellness. The course equips clinicians to replace outdated punitive models with evidence-based, trauma-responsive care. Upon successful completion, earned hours are automatically reported to CE Broker.
