Colorado LPCs who want to supervise have four ways to complete supervision training under 4 CCR 737-1 Rule 1.7. Here’s how the requirement works, and the options we offer.
What Rule 1.7 asks of LPC supervisors
An LPC who supervises in Colorado has at least 3 years and 3,000 hours of experience, plus one of the following:
- A 2-credit graduate course in clinical supervision
- 6 hours of training covering seven required supervision content areas
- The Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential
- A doctorate that includes supervision
Once supervising, LPC supervisors also complete 3 Professional Development Hours in supervision at each renewal.
