Foundations of Crisis Intervention (4 Clock Hours) -Pennsylvania

Overview
Curriculum

Delivering essential training for mental health professionals, this four-clock-hour course addresses the core mechanics of acute psychological distress. Participants will examine established theoretical models and applied practical techniques to stabilize vulnerable individuals. Identifying the specific characteristics of a crisis state allows clinical staff to select the most appropriate response strategies. Maintaining a steady presence serves as the foundation for all subsequent field interventions. This home study course is designed around the continuing education requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors but is not approved or endorsed by the Board. The 2 clock hours of child abuse recognition and reporting training required by Act 31 come from a provider approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services or Department of State.
