Safe Documentation (3 CE Hours)

Overview
Curriculum

This targeted 3-hour Continuing Education course is designed specifically for Kansas Licensed Master Addiction Counselors (LMACs) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselors (LCACs) to master the art and legal necessity of clinical documentation. Moving beyond basic record-keeping, this curriculum emphasizes "safe documentation" as a primary risk management strategy and a clinical intervention that ensures continuity of care. Participants will navigate the specific regulatory requirements of K.A.R. 102-7-11a, federal confidentiality mandates under 42 CFR Part 2, and the ethical nuances of electronic health records (EHR). From crafting defensible psychosocial assessments to writing medical necessity-compliant progress notes and discharge summaries, this course equips addiction professionals to protect their licenses and their clients through rigorous documentation standards. Upon successful completion of the post-test, hours are reported directly to CE Broker.

CE Broker reporting covers the 16 boards in 10 states where I'm a registered provider. Everyone gets a certificate to download right away.
