Domestic Violence for Florida Mental Health Professionals
This two hour, text-based home study course covers domestic violence for Florida mental health professionals: how many clients are likely to be victims or perpetrators, screening procedures, and referral to local resources.
Module 1 reviews current national and Florida data, the dynamics of domestic violence and coercive control, lethality indicators, and validated screening tools, and shows how to screen safely and in a culturally responsive way. Module 2 covers safety planning, Florida injunctions and batterer intervention programs, reporting duties when children or vulnerable adults are involved, confidentiality, documentation, and referral to certified domestic violence centers and hotlines. Each module includes a practical routine, a tool training, and Florida case studies.
