Overview
Curriculum

This three hour, text-based home study course covers professional boundaries for Idaho licensed professional counselors and licensed clinical professional counselors.

Module 1 covers why boundaries protect clients, what Idaho's rules and the ACA Code require, the power differential, and the difference between boundary crossings and boundary violations. Module 2 covers multiple relationships, gifts, bartering, touch, former clients, and sexual misconduct, including Idaho's criminal law on sexual exploitation by a medical care provider, which covers psychotherapists. Module 3 covers digital boundaries, self-disclosure, small-town and rural Idaho practice, and how to repair boundary problems. Each module includes a practical routine, a tool training, a skills practice, and Idaho case studies.
