NBCC Approved Courses
Dr. Paulson Professional Counseling LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7987. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Dr. Paulson Professional Counseling LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. The courses listed on this page qualify for NBCC continuing education credit and are designed for National Certified Counselors (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Topics span clinical ethics and jurisprudence, diagnosis and treatment planning, trauma-informed care, suicide assessment and prevention, clinical supervision, telehealth practice, and cultural responsiveness. Every course is offered in the home study format approved by NBCC, consisting of text-based learning materials paired with an assessment that demonstrates completion. All courses are fully online and self-paced, so you can complete your required hours on your own schedule. Once you finish a course and pass the post test, your certificate is available for immediate download, with hours reported to CE Broker automatically where applicable. Courses approved through NAADAC or the Florida Certification Board are listed under their own categories.
Telehealth in Texas: Legal and Ethical Standards (4 CE Hours)

Gambling Addiction Treatment: A Brief Review (2 CE Hours)
Clinicians will analyze the shift from "Impulse Control Disorder" to "Addictive Disorder," examining the neurobiological similarities between gambling and substance use.
Participants will review the nine diagnostic criteria for Gambling Disorder, including the critical concepts of "chasing losses" and "bailouts."
The course provides training on specific assessment tools such as the South Oaks Gambling Screen (SOGS) and the National Opinion Research Center DSM Screen (NODS).
Texas Jurisprudence Exam Prep (1 CE hour)

The course provides a detailed review of Texas-specific mandates regarding confidentiality (Chapter 611), the release of records, and the permissive vs. mandatory duty to warn standards unique to Texas law.
Learners will review the most tested areas of the Texas Administrative Code, including the prohibitions on sexual misconduct, the specific timelines for record retention, and the distinction between "clinical" and "supportive" counseling.
