This comprehensive 6-hour training addresses the complex clinical reality of Co-Occurring Disorders (COD), where substance use and mental health disorders exist simultaneously. Designed specifically for Texas Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDCs), this course moves beyond the "siloed" treatment approach to an Integrated Treatment model. Participants will explore the etiology of comorbidity, master differential diagnosis using DSM-5-TR criteria, and develop robust treatment plans that address both conditions concurrently. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based interventions such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while adhering to Texas BHEC rules, HHSC rules for LCDCs, and the federal privacy requirements of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Upon successful completion of the post-test, hours are reported directly to CE Broker.
CE Broker reporting covers the 16 boards in 10 states where I'm a registered provider. Everyone gets a certificate to download right away.
