This 3-hour continuing education course covers Content Area C4: Assessment and Counseling Procedures, and is designed for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistants, Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselors, and their respective clinical supervisors. It prepares addiction professionals to translate assessment into action. Practitioners execute multidimensional ASAM-based assessments, gather collateral information ethically within federal privacy mandates, conduct rapid risk screenings for withdrawal and suicidality, implement collaborative safety planning, and execute the core functions of screening, intake, orientation, and client engagement.
