Couple and Family Therapy is a five clock hour, text-based home study course for marital and family therapists and other clinicians who work with couples and families. It covers systemic foundations and relational assessment, evidence-based couple therapy models, family therapy for children and adolescents, intimate partner violence, substance use, divorce, stepfamilies, diversity, grief, telehealth, and ethics and law under the 2026 AAMFT Code of Ethics, with a section on Pennsylvania law and the Board's Chapter 48 standards. Each module includes practical tools, case studies with reflection questions, and a summary. This course is designed around the continuing education requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors but is not approved or endorsed by the Board. The 2 clock hours of child abuse recognition and reporting training required by Act 31 come from a provider approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services or Department of State.
