An 8-hour training focused on mastering the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) public health model. The program provides intensive instruction on the four processes and core skills (OARS, RULE) of Motivational Interviewing (MI). Participants will learn to differentiate between Preparatory and Mobilizing Change Talk (DARN-CAT), employ advanced strategies for rolling with resistance and sustain talk, and collaboratively construct a client-centered Change Plan. The course also covers the ethical and legal mandates governing screening and the final stages of the SBIRT model, including the crucial warm hand-off.
